“Ride with us!" Monthly and join the Cadence Crew
In 2010, we founded Spoken Revolutions Youth Cycling (SnR) with a simple mission: to introduce Black and ALAANA youth in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area to long-distance cycling.
Fast forward 14 years, and the enthusiasm for cycling among these youth remain strong.
Over the years, we have had the privilege of engaging with over 147 young cyclists who have led cross-country tours spanning more than 10,300 miles. From tracing the Underground Railroad to exploring The Trail of Tears, our youth have embarked on transformative journeys to Memphis, Chicago, and the lands of the Gullah Geechee People.
Each year we witness many transformations: Shifts in attitudes, unhealthy habits turning to healthier choices, and self-confidence soaring ever higher. It is clear: given the opportunity, anyone can succeed!
Over the course of our journey, we've added:
- A second, shorter distance Spring Excursion touring the state of North Carolina
- TMBYR Wolves Mountain Biking for those who really enjoy the wild
- The East Durham Cycling Center that offers community rides and bike repair
