If 21 days makes a habit, this is day 1…
This morning I started a workout routine. It wasn’t a big routine but a start, nonetheless. It consisted of excerises that I consider uncomfortable and will draining. Pushups, crunches and planks. I started with those first because I dislike them most as they tire me out fast and give me that nauseous feeling. Either way, it’s done now and I can put it behind me and not think about it until tomorrow morning. While I can consider this my first day of creating this healthy habit I can actually say that it started on Sunday afternoon.
Sunday afternoon I took a 3 mile ride to the grocery store to pickup a few items needed for dinner. I didn’t ride alone as my friends Bernie Thighs and Shirley Outtabreath came along to keep me company. Of course, they were there reminding me that I hadn’t ridden my bike in 3 months. I made it there and back without any problems but we had a spirited conversation both ways.
I also took advantage of the last day of nice weather here in the Triangle and rode my bike to work on Monday. Luckily, my friends decided not to ride with me the whole way and bid farewell after 5 miles and I had a pleasant 14 mile ride in.
So starts my 21 days to form a habit of excercise. Nutrition to follow next. I wonder what friends will follow me on that journey?
